Have you ever turned to one of your girlfriends for advice, only to look at the expression on her face and realize that what she is really saying is — “don’t date this guy!” What were you thinking of, you should have known better, but may well have found that you just acted on the spur of the moment.
You have to listen to your friends if one of them tells you — don’t date this guy. She might have heard a tasty tidbit or two about him and generally know something that you don’t. She might even have a sixth sense, but you always owe it to yourself to listen as if there’s an element of doubt you need to know more.
You may have lowered your standards for a moment for one reason or another, even agreed to go out with the guy because he is persistent or you could not think of a reason not to. Don’t damage your emotional resources here, you should be sure that you have as good a chance as possible before you even start.
If you find a man is an out and out bore, don’t date this guy! When you find that your mind is starting to wonder even while he is talking to you, it might be his monotone style of delivery or what he chooses to talk to you about. Don’t forget that you won’t be able to fake interest for ever.
Don’t date this guy if he appears to be way too overconfident. We all like strong men and those who are confident to a degree, but when this becomes too much, it can turn you off very quickly. If he has a swagger or is brash, then you don’t need to get involved unless you are the type that just loves to have everything done for you and be told what to do.
When you come across a man who likes to pinch all his pennies, don’t date this guy. Now and again it is expected that the man takes the initiative and while it is good to share, you should expect to be treated, most especially on the first date! If he is constantly calculating, go the other way.
Watch out for certain personality types when you’re on the dating trail and don’t date this guy if he appears to be one of those. You will be glad you held out.
Just because you are single, does not mean that you have to choose the next guy who comes along, regardless of where he is coming from, what he is or where he is going.
