Nothing adds more spice to a relationship than saying I love you in ways that are unique. Surprising him with a love letter is one of the best ways to go about this.

If you’ve never exchanged love letters with your partner, then that hand written love letter will definitely impress. A letter composed by you expressing your feelings will mean so much more than a store bought greeting card.

Some useful suggestions for using the written word to express your feelings.

1.) Your letter should be composed in two separate steps. The first is the composition stage.

Editing comes next where you clean up mistakes and grammatical errors. Never edit your letter while composing because it slows down and stunts your writing.

When you are composing, write the words down as they pop into your head. During a normal conversation, you usually don’t pause to formulate your sentences, the words just flow from your lips. The same should be true when writing.

Picture yourself with your partner and you’re sharing intimate feelings with him. Record the words that you say.

Always keep your inner critic silent when you compose. You must actually experience the sentiment that’s being written. That means being in the right mood as you write.

Play romantic music. Don’t worry about being corny or cheesy, just keep writing and get those feeling onto the page.

2.) Include some well known love quotations. Placed in the right spot, it will add beauty to the emotions of the love letter.

Love quotations are easily found online. Enter “love quotes” into a search engine. As of the time of this writing there are 41,800,000 search results on Google for love quotes.

3.) Compose the letter in another language. This is an advanced technique and is not required but it enhances the letter.

Try this if you speak a second language or if someone you know can translate. You can give your partner the translation or insist that he do the translation.

4.) Half the fun of love letters lies in its delivery to your partner. Methods that entail surprise works best.

Try placing it in his briefcase so that it’s found at work. If he doesn’t have a briefcase then put it in one of his pockets. With some imagination, you will find countless ways to do this.
