Here’s a question for you: Do you think that women enjoy dating a gentleman or is a man showing chivalry an insult to them?
What is chivalry? Dating back many centuries, chivalry is best known to have begun with the knighthood as a code of behavior followed by the mounted warriors giving them special status in the social system.
Today’s definition, although it may have different meanings to different people, is generally thought of as having good manners, encompassing the ideas of being polite, courteous, respectful, and loyal. Being a man of chivalry means he shows honor, treating others with kindness and of course offering assistance to those in need. In some cases, you can think of chivalry as a sort of romantic gesture; whether it be your man or another offering it up. Of course, there are other ways a man can be chivalrous which has no romantic connection to it-simply just part of a code of honor that makes a man a gentleman.
Women’s rights and independence are very important, and being a strong, independent woman does not exclude you from being the beneficiary of chivalry and good deeds. Equality isn’t responsible for the lack of chivalrous acts, and wanting chivalry has nothing to do with weakness. In fact, many never make the connection that chivalry is an aspect of what makes up a great relationship. Being treated with chivalry will not make you weak or take away your independence at all.
So when considering a potential life partner, or even just a simple date, you should really think about what the other can offer you. Don’t think a man will change, if his manners don’t measure up now then they never will.
Chivalry may not show up on many lists of desirable qualities in a man, but if it is a question of choosing between the bad boy and the gentleman, go for chivalry if you are interested in a long-term relationship or even marriage. Being treated with respect will never get old, and this kind of man will really make you happy. Your self-esteem will be enhanced because you are being treated as you should…like a lady.
Last year most of us took a direct hit economy wise. If you can get pass the ones they do not meet. When they start meeting a number of people who are not to their liking.
